One Case Report of Idiopathic Myeloid Metaplasia and its Evolution into Acute leukemia

Abstract
|
|
|
Agnogenic myeloid metaplasia (AMM-has been included in myeloproliferative disease
but its evolution into acute leukemia has not been confirmed. There has teen many
controversy regarding its transformation into acute leukemia without using radiation or
radiominetic myelosuppressant unlike chronic myelocytic leukemia or polycythemia vera.
We has been following a case of agnogenic myeloid metaplasia which wart confirmed on
March 1979 by splenoectomy and bone marrow biopsy. His AMM transformed into acute
myelomonocytic leukemia in May 1980 after one year of AMM diagnosis without
myelosuppresant medication or irradiation therapy. We report this case not because of
its rarity of leukemic transformation but try to emphasize that the AMM also derived
from abnormal stem cell clone and can transform acute leukemia as like as the otter
myeloproliferative diseased.
